AYU-Project prepared working documentation for the technical upgrade of the power supply system at the −375 m level of the Severny Mine operated by Kola MMC JSC. The work integrated the electrical and structural design disciplines for one of the mine’s deep operating levels.
Client
The customer was Kola MMC JSC, part of the Norilsk Nickel group, whose enterprise mines copper-nickel ores at the Severny mine in the Murmansk region.
Facility
The subject of the design is the power supply system at the horizon −375 m of the Severny mine, Zapolyarny site. The work was carried out in an active underground mine.
Scope of design work
AYU-Project specialists have developed working documentation for the construction of a complete switchgear (KRU) on the specified horizon, as well as architectural and design solutions for arranging the premises for housing the switchgear. This combination of electrical and construction sections in one project made it possible to take into account the actual dimensions of the underground mine during the design and to avoid inconsistencies between the equipment being placed and the building structures of the chamber.
