We design integrated security systems that combine video surveillance, intrusion alarm, fire alarm, access control and related technologies into one coordinated protection architecture.

AYU-Project designs integrated security systems for industrial, commercial, government and residential facilities. We develop system architecture, select equipment and software, and define how video surveillance, alarm systems, access control and analytics interact. A properly designed security system provides 24/7 monitoring, rapid incident response and reduced risk for people, assets and infrastructure.

Why is “multiple systems” not the same as comprehensive security?

Video surveillance may be installed, access control may operate and the intrusion alarm may be active, but if an unauthorised entry event occurs, the video clip may not be linked to the alarm, the door may not lock automatically and the operator may receive alerts from several unrelated sources at once. That is not integrated security. It is a set of isolated systems whose incompatibility becomes visible exactly when coordinated response is critical.

An integrated security system is not the sum of separate subsystems. It is one architecture in which each element receives information from the others and reacts according to agreed algorithms. Access control can receive an intrusion-alarm signal and block the perimeter. Video surveillance can switch cameras to the event area and start enhanced recording. Warning systems can operate together with entrance-group blocking. The whole complex is controlled from a single operator workstation and can be integrated with the building management system.

AYU-Project designs integrated security systems for industrial, commercial, government and residential facilities, from concept and technical specifications to full design and working documentation suitable for expert review, installation and commissioning. Within the “Integrated Security Systems” package, we work across three key areas: technical security systems, engineering and technical security systems, and anti-terrorism protection.

Three principles behind our integrated-security approach

We design project-specific security solutions rather than applying a standard template. Threat scenarios, layout, operating mode and facility category are different for every client. We integrate subsystems into a single management and monitoring infrastructure, eliminating isolated “security islands” that cannot interact during a real incident. We also design for scalability: the integrated-security architecture allows new subsystems, additional protected zones and expanded analytics to be added without replacing the system core.

What does the “Integrated Security Systems” package include?

The package covers three specialist design areas, each regulated by its own framework and requiring specific expert review.

Technical Security Systems Design (TSOB) - development of design and working documentation for security systems at special-purpose facilities: transport infrastructure, fuel and energy facilities, government sites and sensitive facilities. Technical security systems can include video surveillance with intelligent analytics, intrusion alarm, access control, perimeter security, inspection equipment and threat-detection systems, combined into one hardware and software complex with a situation-centre interface.

Design of Engineering and Technical Security Systems (ITSS) - development of design and working documentation for the engineering and technical protection perimeter: physical barriers, anti-ram devices, security vestibules, perimeter-control systems and unauthorised-entry detection integrated with access control and video surveillance. These systems are designed with the protected facility category, required threat-detection time and required security response time in mind.

Anti-terrorist security - development of documentation for facilities subject to federal anti-terrorism protection requirements, including facility safety passports and technical solutions for equipping the facility with engineering and technical security measures according to the assigned hazard category. Facilities subject to mandatory categorisation and certification are defined by industry-specific regulations of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Why should integrated security be designed by one coordinated team?

Dividing access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and engineering security between different organisations creates a predictable problem: each designer optimises one section without full visibility of related solutions. The result can be physically installed systems that are not logically integrated. Cable routes are duplicated, server rooms cannot accommodate all equipment, data-exchange protocols are incompatible and joint response algorithms are missing.

A single coordinated designer helps create a consistent architecture: unified cable infrastructure, a consolidated server core, one integration approach, shared response algorithms and a single operator interface. AYU-Project designs the entire complex within one contract, reducing interface conflicts and maintaining continuity during design supervision.

How does the architecture of modern ISS work?

Modern integrated security is based on open architecture. Subsystems are connected to a single physical-security software platform that supports event exchange, access-rights management, event and video archiving, automated incident-response scenarios and a situation-centre interface. Hardware components communicate with the platform over the facility IP network using open or vendor-specific protocols such as ONVIF for cameras, OSDP for access control and SDK integration for alarm systems.

Key components of modern integrated security include IP video surveillance with analytics, access control with biometric identification and centralised rights management, intrusion and fire alarm systems, perimeter security with multi-channel alarm verification, warning and evacuation control, and integration with fire-protection automation for priority control during a fire alarm. The design documentation fixes the architecture, equipment composition and interaction algorithms for all these elements.

For which facilities is integrated security design relevant?

Integrated security is relevant for any facility where personnel safety, asset protection and business continuity are critical. This includes shopping and business centres, industrial enterprises, production complexes, logistics and warehouse facilities, transport infrastructure, fuel and energy facilities, critical infrastructure, medical institutions, educational facilities and residential complexes with controlled access.

For the construction business, it is important to understand: requirements for the composition and level of security systems may be legally binding. For facilities included in the register of anti-terrorism protection facilities, the composition of engineering and technical security equipment and their technical parameters are determined by the relevant decree of the Government of the Russian Federation for the industry. For a number of other facilities (banks, airports, fuel and energy complex objects), requirements for TSOB are established by industry regulators. Non-compliance with requirements is identified during inspection and entails administrative liability.

        Frequently Asked Questions

        • Integrated security systems design
Can the Integrated Security System be commissioned in stages, one subsystem at a time?

Yes, phased commissioning is possible and is often used on large projects under construction. Condition - the KSB architecture must be designed taking into account stages from the very beginning: the server core and network infrastructure are laid out with a reserve for the full composition of subsystems, licenses for the integration platform are purchased with the required number of points, cable routes are laid at the same time. In this case, at the first stage, for example, video surveillance and access control system (ACS) are introduced, and security alarms and engineering and technical security equipment (ETSE) are connected at the next stage without replacing the core. Unless the architecture allows for expansion, incremental additions inevitably lead to duplicate cabling, protocol incompatibilities, and additional costs. That is why the correct design of the CSS from the first step is an investment that pays off during the development of the facility.

What is the matrix of events in the KSB project and why is it needed?

The event-action matrix is a key design document of the CSS, in which for each type of event in any subsystem (security alarm alarm, attempt of unauthorized passage through the access control system (ACS), detection of an intruder on the perimeter, fire alarm from the fire protection automation system (FPAS), etc.) it is formally stated what automatic actions must be performed in all other subsystems: which cameras are switched to the event zone, which doors are blocked or unlocked, which notifications are sent to the dispatcher, which recordings are launched with increased resolution. Without an event matrix, the integrator cannot correctly program the PSS platform, and the client cannot verify at acceptance that the system works exactly as intended. We develop a matrix of events at the design documentation stage and transfer it as part of the programming task to the detailed design documentation.

What is the time frame for developing design documentation and detailed design documentation for KSB?

For a facility of medium complexity (office building or shopping center, access control system + video surveillance + security alarm) - 3-4 DD weeks and 4-5 WD weeks. For large facilities with safety and security measures, ETSS and anti-terrorist documentation - individually, the terms are fixed in the contract. With the combined design of a CSB with FPSA and ASCS, the timeframe is reduced due to a unified cable infrastructure and coordinated control algorithms. Anti-terrorist documentation (safety passport) is developed in parallel with the DD - as a rule, it does not require additional time.

Do you support Russian equipment for KSB in the face of import restrictions?

Yes. The Russian software register and domestic manufacturers offer complete solutions for every ISS component: ACS - Parsec, Bolid, RusGuard, IronLogic; video surveillance and analytics - Macroscop, Trassir, Beward, RVi; security alarm - Bolid, Rielta, "Argus-Spectrum"; integration platforms - Intellect (Axxon Next), Macroscop WEB. We design KSB on both domestic and foreign hardware platforms - depending on client requirements, availability of FSTEK certificates, import substitution requirements and budget restrictions. For state and municipal facilities we use only equipment and PO included in the registers of the Ministry of Digital Development.

How is the Integrated Security System coordinated with fire protection automation?

Integration of KSB with ASPZ is performed according to the principle of unconditional priority of fire algorithms: when there is a “Fire” signal, ASPZ generates a command to unlock ACS at emergency exits - KSB is obliged to carry it out without the possibility of overriding by the security manager. In normal mode, KSB receives information signals from ASPZ about the state of fire protection zones and displays them on a single dispatch interface. This interaction logic is recorded in the matrix of events and reactions - the key PD document at KSB, which determines the behavior of the entire complex in emergency situations. Joint design of KSB and ASPZ under one contract eliminates algorithm conflicts and guarantees consistency of documentation.

Is it possible to connect new cameras or readers to an existing KSB without new design documentation?

Minor changes - replacing a separate device with a similar one, adding 1-2 cameras within the existing security zone - are allowed as part of updating the detailed design documentation without re-issuing the design documentation. Significant changes - adding new security zones or boundaries, expanding the perimeter, changing the integration platform or changing joint response algorithms - require adjustments to the design documentation. The limit of “materiality” is determined according to the criteria of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, art. 52 and the terms of the contract with the technical client. We help determine the required amount of documentation for each specific case during a free consultation.

Is it necessary to develop a safety data sheet and for which facilities?

An facility's safety passport is a mandatory document for facilities included in the lists determined by industry regulations of the Government of the Russian Federation on anti-terrorism security. The lists cover a wide range of facilities: education, healthcare, culture, transport, TEK, retail facilities with regulated capacity and others. The category of the facility (I, II, III or IV) is determined according to the criteria established in the relevant resolution and determines the minimum required composition of engineering and technical means of protection. The safety data sheet is developed together with the technical documentation for equipping the ITSO facility and must be agreed upon with the territorial division of the Russian Guard or another authorized body, depending on the industry of the facility. AYU-Project helps determine whether certification is required and carries out the entire range of documentation.

How do technical security systems differ from engineering and technical security systems, and are both required at the same facility?

technical security equipment (TSE) is technical (electronic) security equipment: video surveillance, access control system (ACS), security alarm, threat detection and situational management systems. engineering and technical security equipment (ETSE) is an engineering and technical circuit: physical barriers, anti-ram devices, obstacles, airlock zones equipped with electronic detection and control means. Most seriously protected facilities (transport infrastructure, fuel and energy facilities, sensitive enterprises) require both directions: engineering and technical security equipment (ETSE) forms the boundaries of physical protection, technical security equipment (TSE) carries out their electronic monitoring and response management. For medium-sized commercial facilities (office centers, retail facilities, residential complexes), technical security equipment (TSE) is sufficient without full-fledged engineering and...
